BRIC Talk

with Stephen Sackur

A New Hard-Hitting interview series from MIM

Over the last five weeks, five hard-hitting interviews focused on the BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China) have been released - with Stephen Sackur in the hot seat. Each programme examines current issues and debates surrounding these nations, heightened by research completed by the University of Manchester, marking the completion of the University of Manchester’s  Rising Powers and Interdependent Futures Research Project.

The rising powers represent one of the main drivers of global economic and social change and first came to prominence after economist Lord Jim O’Neill coined the ‘BRIC’ acronym.

Each episode focusses on one key interview with policy insiders from Russia, China, Brazil and India including the former chief economist of the World Bank Kaushik Basu and Sergei Guriev, chief economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

These programmes are produced by Freddy Chick and Ashley Byrne and edited by James Brown.
